LITTLE RED HOTEL on an ICELANDIC ISLAND
In the heart of Breidafjordur Bay nature & bird reserve is a tiny island called Flatey, and this is where we found our ideal Little Red Hotel!
The best place to savour Iceland’s warm welcome and delicious food. The hotel buildings were once village warehouses and have been tastefully converted – still forming the heart of the village. Think painted wooden houses, candles and romantic, cosy rooms.
There are no cars on the island, just a few tractors. Walking from the jetty to the hotel, you start to unwind, breathe the fresh sea air and the island begins to weave its magic around you.
You can even hire a kayak and potter about the surroundings islets to see terns, eider ducks, puffins…
