Sailing: Greenland & Iceland

SAILING in GREENLAND & ICELAND  with Siggi and Runar

Borea AdventuresIn the summer of 2005, en-route to Greenland, the legendary sailor Robin Knox-Johnston sailed into Ísafjörður in Iceland with his friend Chris Bonnington. They got chatting to a couple of local boys on the quay and, over some chicken curry and beers onboard, Siggi and Runar fulfilled a lifelong dream and bought the yacht!

The 60 foot sloop Aurora has proved ideal for exploring East Greenland and Jan Mayen as well as wildlife voyages in Iceland and for kayaking expeditions using Aurora as a base-camp. In the winter, they also run Sail and Ski adventures in the remote NW Fjords of Iceland.

For information and to book your Arctic sailing expedition, have a look at Siggi and Runar’s website: www.boreaadventures.com

A little bit of home comfort:  Siggi is a particularly good cook and uses fresh local ingredients wherever possible to produce delicious home-cooked meals.
