SAILING in SPITSBERGEN with Olivier Pitras
Olivier left France 25 years ago to sail the world. His passion for sea, mountains and virgin spaces soon led him to polar regions. He was the first French skipper to sail the northwest passage – and only the 3rd since Amundsen to sail through in a season! Now based in Tromsø, Olivier sails to Spitsbergen every summer -his favourite play-ground. ‘Southern Star’ is a fast and strong expedition yacht, she is simply equipped for both ocean passages and as a floating basecamp for Sail and Hike expeditions.
