    Hi Sarah,
We had a great time at Kiilopaa. it was cold -20degC with lots of snow, fresh and powder. We had 2 great shows of Northern lights, each lasting over 1 hour, until our feet were frozen and we had to return to warmth of our cosy cabin. The spectacular dancing green lights were a sight to behold… so close, occupying over half the sky! We had other shorter Northern lights displays as well, one early in the morning..and one we thought was red (not sure)! Your recommendation of the 10person cabin was a great idea as the layout of the cabin was really spacious compared to the 8 person cabin. Lots of other activities organised by the Kiilopaa staff who are very helpful and friendly. The view from the top of Kiilopaa was fantastic as well and we also saw three willow grouses on our last snow shoe walk hours before departure. We will be back again.

Just back from great trip to Solli. Dreadful snow (or lack of), icy conditions and bitter cold, then melt and rain! Only 2 nights in huts; had to snow-shoe instead (and enjoyed that).
But what a great time – it’s the people and company as well as the place. Then Solli helps a lot; it’s comfortable, warm, wonderfully situated, isolated on fjiord shore with astonishing views straight across to Lyngren Alps, but direct bus to door from Tromso – and the food’s great. AND THE NORTHERN LIGHTS! Thanks Jim and Sarah for switching them on so spectacularly.
It would be great to visit at lots of other times of the year; but also to go again at the same time, as the snow would likely be great then too.

    Antarctic Peninsula – Basecamp

Thank you for another amazing trip! It was everything I expect from one of your trips and a lot more. Brilliantly organised and the advice on the different types of expeditions was invaluable. Each day seemed better than the one before with more wildlife and more dramatic and breathtaking scenery.

    Thank you again!

Right where can I go next?

Hut to Hut ski touring in Arctic Norway: Getting really excited about my impending trip ski touring with The Polar People in Arctic Norway. Sarah and Jim have been full of really helpful advice, suggesting activities and always there if I have a last minute question. I have no doubt I’m going to have a great time. Now I’m packing and getting sooooo excited I can hardly contain myself.

Hut to Hut ski touring in Arctic Norway: I can’t believe I’m back but what a trip. Jim’s ski lessons were fab, Sarah’s menu for the week light weight and so tasty, I don’t eat that well at home. I learnt how to build a snowhole, skied in fresh powder and even managed to catch the Annual Sami Reindeer Racing. Great trip, well worth the money. Thank you so much.

Praise indeed from the domestic godess – and thank you for taking on the mantle of ‘team chef’ for the week! I’m loving your pics on facebook :-) Sarah

    August in Spitsbergen

My first experience with the Polar People and Sarah was when I booked a totally amazing trip to Spitsbergen. The whole holiday was stress free due to the fantastic customer service offered; from local information, to tips of how to fill the 9 hour wait at Oslo airport!

I wanted to go canoeing and walking and all of the excursions ran like clockwork, a real bonuses as I was traveling by myself. I stayed for part of the time at Basecamp Isfjord Radio, which was outstandingly beautiful, and seeing polar bears there after dinner on my 2nd night made my trip! I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I was so impressed that I have now booked to go to the Antarctic in March and already thinking of where to go next!
