| | GOURMET GREENLANDIC DINNER or LUNCH Agathe's kitchen is a very special place where she blends local Greenlandic produce with French "savoir-faire".
Your menu could include: Whale skin, called 'mattak' in greenlandic, served with angelica-garlic and rosemary pickles. Fresh caught Arctic Char or 'Daub', a kind of french stew, made with local Greenlandic reindeer meat. Perhaps rounded off with something delicious made from blueberries picked behind the farmhouse!
You don't have to stay overnight to sample Agathe's culinary delights, you could stop off for a meal here on a hiking trip, or take a day trip from Narsaq or Narsarssuaq. | |
| | SPITSBERGEN to NORTHEAST GREENLAND A WILDLIFE VOYAGE tracing the edge of the pack-ice from Spitsbergen to Greenland.
Starting from Spitsbergen's northwest coast, where we have excellent chances of seeing polar bears, we set sail for Greenland.
Northeast of Greenland is one of the most rewarding regions for wildlife enthusiasts, with regular sightings of musk oxen, Arctic hare, narwhals and a variety of birds, including gyrfalcon, snowy owl, barnacle and pink-footed geese.
At sea, we could see fin whales, humpback whales and minke whales, as well as the amazing Brünnuch’s guillemots which swim with their young from Spitsbergen, along the edge of the sea-ice, all the way to south Greenland!
